JAKARTA – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) introduces an online gold sales platform via Tokopedia.com, one of the giant e-commerce marketplaces in Indonesia.
Nico Kanter, President Director of Aneka Tambang, claimed that ANTM’s participation in the online marketplace is intended to facilitate easier access for people to purchase precious metals with guaranteed security and product authenticity. “It is part of the company’s strategies in meeting the consumers’ demands and market adaptation,” he added in the press release quoted Friday (25/2).
According to Kanter, the sale of precious metals (gold) has always been taking place via 15 gold outlets of Antam spread across 11 major cities and through the website. For the record, the official gold store of Antam in Tokopedia will be managed by PT Emas Antam Indonesia (EAI), ANTM’s subsidiary.
In 2021, ANTM reported precious metal sales of 28.28 tons, 44% higher than in 2020 at 19.70 tons in the domestic market. The gold production (unaudited number) reached 1.69 tons, climbing 1% from the production in 2020 of 1.67 tons. The sales amounted to 29.38 tons, proliferating 33% from 22.10 tons in 2020. (LK/ZH)
