JAKARTA. FWD Management Holding Limited, a Hong Kong-based insurance company, is officially listed as the new shareholder of PT Asuransi BRI Life, an insurance company under PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI).
Aestika Oryza Gunarto, Corporate Secretary of BBRI, confirmed that FWD Management entered the shareholder list through the acquisition of newly issued shares. The current number of shares claimed by FWD Management amounts to 1,192,007 shares, equivalent to 35.14% of the entire shares.
“Our bank is still the controlling and consolidating shareholder [of BRI Life],” Gunarto reaffirmed in the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
The portion of BBRI in BRI Life now reportedly reached 2 million shares, which are equal to 59.02%. Meanwhile, another 197,98 thousand shares or 5.84% belong to Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pekerja BRI.
Gunarto also informed that the capital investment by FWD Management was intended to promote the business expansion of BRI Life. “It is to realise the aspiration of the company to establish an integrated financial service to the public,” he concluded. (KR/ZH)
