Gov’t plans to auction government sukuk, eyeing IDR 9 trillion

JAKARTA. The Indonesian government will once again host the auction of Government Sharia Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or Government Sukuk tomorrow (8/3), targeting IDR 9 trillion in total.

The upcoming state sukuk will consist of one series of Sharia Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara Syariah/SPN-S) and five series of Project-Based Sukuk (PBS). This auction is intended to fulfil the financing target set in the 2022 State Budget, as confirmed in the official statement of the Directorate-General of Budget Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance.

The yield offered for the SPN-S will be in the form of discounts. In comparison, the yield for the PBS series will start at 4% and be capped at 6.75%.

The auction will begin at 9 AM WIB and end at 11 AM WIB. The settlement date is set to March 10, 2022.

The registered participants of the auction include the primary dealers, the Deposit Insurance Agency (lit. Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan/LPS), and Bank Indonesia (BI). The primary dealers in question comprise 14 banks and four security companies. (KR/ZH)
