Ministry of PUPR reviews final prep for Mandalika MotoGP infrastructure

MANDALIKA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the final readiness of infrastructure development from the Airport Intersection to the area around the Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province on Monday (7/3) ahead of the MotoGP  on 18-20 March 2022 .

Minister Basuki ensured that the arrangement of landscape and aesthetic conditions on the bypass road from the airport to the Mandalika area could be completed in the early stages on March 12, 2022, which will welcome MotoGP tourists, to continue the rest of the handling until the final stage in October 2022.

"Please pay close attention to the pavement on both sides of the BIL - Mandalika Bypass Road. Immediately tidy up and make sure the quality is good and not easily damaged," said Minister Basuki.

The arrangement of the 17.3 km BIL - Mandalika Bypass Road is divided into 4 zones with the current overall progress reaching 92.40%. The arrangement includes planting grass and trees of bougenville, tabebuya, ketapang Kencana, and pule in the median of the road, reforestation on the slow lane through landfills, and reforestation of the hills along Jalan Bypass BIL - Mandalika.

The Kuta-Keruak Road was also widened to 5.3 km by adding the existing lane to 4 lanes, constructing a concrete drainage channel on the outer edge of the road, and improving the vertical and horizontal alignment of the existing road. The widening work is divided into 3 segments with the current overall progress reaching 87.99%. (LM)
