JAKARTA – The Attorney General’s Office seizes land and building of PT Kertas Basuki Rachmat Indonesia Tbbk (KBRI) in Banyuwangi, East Java. It is due to the company being associated to the case of investment fund corruption in Indonesian Export Financing Institution (lit. Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia/LPEI), allegedly led by Johan Darsono

In the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (16/3), the team from the Attorney General’s Office is said to have seized assets of KBRI following the decision made by Banyuwang District Court No.158/Pen.Pid/2022/PN Byw issued on March 9, 2022. It also heeds to the seizure warrant issued by the Investigation Director of Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes No.Print-01/F2/Fd.2/01/2022 on January 11, 2022.

Several representatives from National Land Agency of Banyuwangi, district offices in Banyuwangi, and sub-district offices in Banyuwangi were present during the confiscation last week (10/3).

Johan Darsono is known as the owner of Johan Darsono Group. He was ruled as a suspect of the case of national export financing corruption of LPEI from 2013 to 2019. Prior to the assets seizure in Banyuwangi, the Attorney General’s Office had taken over his assets in Sukoharjo, Central Java, and Gresik, East Java. (LK/ZH)
