Suparma posted sales growth of nearly 30%

JAKARTA. A paper and pulp manufacturer, PT Suparma Tbk (SPMA), reported sales of IDR 2.79 trillion in 2021. It soared 29.88% from IDR 2.15 trillion reported by the end of 2020.

Quoting the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange yesterday (27/3), SPMA’s satisfactory sales in 2021 resulted from the increased contribution of the domestic sales of 34.97% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 2.55 trillion from IDR 1.89 trillion in 2020. However, the export went down 7.07% yoy from IDR 260.55 billion in 2020 to IDR 242.12 billion in 2021.

The company mentioned that following higher sales, the costs of sales also increased 25.39% yoy to IDR 2.20 trillion from IDR 1.75 trillion. Furthermore, the selling expense also climbed 8.28% yoy fromIDR 89.51 billion to IDR 96.93 billion, while general and administrative expenses rose 17.26% yoy to IDR 84 billion.

With several increases in expenses, SPMA ended up with a current year’s profit of IDR 294.32 billion, proliferating from IDR 162.52 billion in 2020. The company also recorded higher value of assets from IDR 2.31 trillion in 2020 to IDR 2.74 trillion by the end of 2021. (AM/ZH)
