JAKARTA – PT Kencana Energy Lestari Tbk (KEEN) has secured the commercial operation date (COD) for Ma’dong Mini Hydropower Plant (lit. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Minihidro/PLTM Ma’dong) of 2x5 megawatts (MW) in Toraja, South Sulawesi from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN.

Wilson Maknawi, Vice President Director of Kencana Energy Lestari, relayed the news in the information disclosure quoted Thursday (31/3). “In the long run, the said COD will ensure the financial condition and business sustainability of the company, allowing us to compete with industry peers,” he stated further.

According to Maknawi, the COD of PLTM Ma’dong is set to March 25, 2022. The power plant is managed by PT Nagata DInamik Hidro Ma’dong, KEEN’s subsidiary.

It is mentioned that PLTM Ma’dong is the third power plant established by KEEN with a build-own-operate (BOO) scheme 20 years after the COD. The contractor of the said power plant is PT Anhe Konstruksi Indonesia (AKI). (LK/ZH)
