JAKARTA. PT Sumeber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT), the company that owns Alfamart and Alfamidi retail networks, reported 12% year-on-year (yoy) revenue growth in 2021, clocking up to IDR 84.9 trillion.

The said upturn was a result from AMRT’s food segment, whose revenue amounted to IDR 59.98 trillion, covering approximately 69.5% of total revenue. Then, non-food products sales brought in IDR 25.91 trillion, equivalent to 30.5% of total revenue. The remaining IDR 16.53 trillion came from the services.

This revenue performance drove AMRT’s net profit to shift 83.79% higher to IDR 1.95 trillion in 2021. In 2020, AMRT’s profit only reached IDR 1.06 trillion.

In the recently issued financial report, AMRT management claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic within the past two years had affected AMRT’s retail businesses. Fortunately, by the end of 2021, the company had yet to feel substantial adverse impacts of the pandemic.

As of December 31, 2021, PT Sigmantara Alfindo reportedly controlled 52.47% of AMRT’s shares. Then, public investors shared 45.69% of the rest, while the remaining portion was divided among directors and commissioners of the company. (KR/ZH)
