WMPP joins forces with Agriculture Ministry to provide cattle embryo transfer technology

11 April 2022 10:46

JAKARTA – PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk (WMPP), a consumer goods manufacturer, partners with the Livestock Embryo Centre (lit. Balai Embryo Ternak/BET) of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the technology of embryo transfer in cattles. Tumiyono, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Widodo Makmur Perkasa, announced the news in the press release quoted Monday (11/4).

“The mission of the company is to breed high-quality cattles, which are still affordable for the public,” Tumiyono asserted.

The collaboration between the company and the embryo centre covers the training and facilitation, led by BET, for WMPP’s employees. It also includes the technical implementation of embryo transfer between BET and PT Pasir Tengah (PT), WMPP’s subsidiary focused in cattle fattening.

Heri Prasojo, CEO of Pasir Tengah, claimed that the cooperation with BET will provide additional value for several internal programs, including a specified genetic project that aims to develop new and high-grade varieties. “Furthermore, BET may utilise the company’s integrated cattle farm infrastructure to support its research and development, which might consequently produce a new breed of cattles,” he stated.
