XL Axiata to allocate 50% of 2021 net profit as cash dividends

JAKARTA. PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL), a telecommunication group under Axiata Group Berhad from Malaysia, will allocate IDR 552.08 billion, or 50% of the 2021 net profit, as cash dividends.

The plan follows the result of EXCL’s Annual General Shareholders Meeting on April 22, 2022. In the said meeting the shareholder agreed to save IDR 100 million as general reserves, while keeping IDR 735.63 billion as retained earnings.

Ranty Astari Rachman, Corporate Secretary of EXCL, mentioned that each shareholder will be eligible for cash dividends of IDR 51 per share. The dividends will be channelled out to those who have been registered in the Shareholders List by May 12, 2022, at 4 PM WIB.

For the record, EXCL’s net profit in 2021 amounted to IDR 1.29 trillion. As of December 31, 2021, the company recorded IDR 6.93 trillion of retained earnings, and total equity worth IDR 20.09 trillion.

The cash dividend to be paid out by EXCL from its 2021 gains is bigger in amount compared to two years prior. For instance, in 2020, the company only paid out cash dividends of IDR 339.45 billion, or IDR 31.7 per share. Then, in 2019, the distributed cash dividends only clocked up to IDR 215.7 billion or IDR 20 per share.

Based on idnfinancials.com data, Axiata Group Berhad still controls 61.16% od EXCL through Axiata Investments (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd. Then, public investors claim 38.31% of the shares, leaving the remaining 0.53% as treasury stock. (KR/ZH)
