CIKARANG - Politeknik Astra has completed the Construction of Solar Panels (Solar Photovoltaic-PV) which is implemented on the roof (Rooftop). Completion of the construction was carried out through a ceremony for the last Solar PV panel installation which was held in a Hybrid manner at the Astra Delta Silicon Polytechnic Campus Cikarang (27/04).

The work on the Solar PV construction project began on February 22, 2022 in collaboration with PT EPN and involved lecturers and Politeknik Astra students from the Diploma 3 Study Program for Manufacturing Production Tooling Equipment (“P4”), Production Technology and Manufacturing Process (“TPM”) and Building Construction Technology (“TKBG”). Solar PV is implemented on the roof of the main Campus and Dormitory Buildings with a total implementation area of 3,300 m3, with 832 panels installed will have the potential to generate electrical energy of almost 0.5 Megawatt-peak or 449 Kilowatt-peak to be precise.

"PT EPN thanks Politeknik Astra for partnering with EPN as a partner for the development and implementation of Solar PV. Throughout 2022, EPN is carrying out Solar PV construction projects in several Astra Group companies, which if the total capacity has the potential to produce around 15 Megawatts-peak, " said President Director of EPN Chinthya Theresa.

According to Chinthya, PT EPN will continue to develop various new renewable energies, apart from solar PV, it will also develop mini-hydro, wind turbines and so on, in order to support the zero carbon target in 2060. In this development, PT EPN will cooperate with Astra Polytechnic in research and development. technology development related to renewable energy.

With the completion of the Rooftop Solar PV construction at the Astra Polytechnic Campus Building, it will then go through the Energizing process and related licensing arrangements. "Along with the energizing process and the processing of an operation-worthy certificate, the Politeknik Astra PLTS technology development team is currently carrying out applicable research which will later be able to produce prototypes that support the use of EBT produced by Solar PV on the Politeknik Astra campus," said Harki Apriyanto, Head of Product Development. and Application of Technology of Politeknik Astra.
