Banks dominated 67.6% of rights issues held in Q1 2022

JAKARTA. The issuance through limited public offerings or rights issues of banking companies reportedly generated IDR 3.04 trillion, equivalent to 67.6% of the collective rights issue proceeds raised by various issuers back in Q1 2022.

The total rights issue value of all issuers reportedly reached IDR 4.50 trillion in Q1 2022, as stated in the Financial Services Authority (OJK) report. Accordingly, total issuance value of non-bank sectors amounted to IDR 1.46 trillion.

The banking sector issuers that conducted rights issues in Q1 2022 included three domestic banks. Meanwhile, there were four non-bank issuers that initiated rights issues in Q1 2022.

PT Bank Ganesha Tbk (BGTG) was the issuer with the highest rights issue value in Q1 2022, amounting to IDR 1.12 trillion. Next was PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk (AMAR) that reported issuance value of IDR 1 trillion, exceeding the issuance value of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk (BJBR) of IDR 925 billion.

The non-bank issuers that held rights issues in Q1 2022 were PT Mahaka Media Tbk (ABBA), PT Pelayaran Nasional Bina Buana Raya Tbk (BNBR), PT Sinergi Inti Plastindo Tbk (ESIP), and PT Multipolar Tbk (MLPL). ABBA’s rights issue value clocked up to IDR 177 billion, while BNBR’s was IDR 245 billion, ESIP’s was IDR 41.79 billion, and MLPL’s was IDR 995 billion. (KR/ZH)
