Several companies delayed their debut dates

18 May 2022 06:17

JAKARTA. The current less supportive capital market climate and internal factors have forced several companies to postpone their listings in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

I Gede Nyoman Yetna, Director of Corporate Appraisal of Indonesia Stock Exchange, mentioned that several candidates of new issuers pushed back its debut date due to the less conducive condition in the capital market, regulation change, and other reasons. Furthermore, there were also internal factors of these companies, for instance gaining new strategic investors that will affect the company’s policy and restructure its business group.

Yetna further revealed that until May 10, 2022, there are 38 companies queuing in the listing pipeline. These companies are still in the process of entering its initial public offering (IPO).

However, Yetna said that the number of companies putting off their IPO plans actually decreased in comparison to last year. “Based on our record, until May 13, 2022, the number of companies that defer their IPO is relatively smaller. We hope that these companies that are still in the pipeline may soon list their shares in the stock exchange,” he explained yesterday (17/5). (AM/ZH)
