Sadawarna Dam construction progress reaches 83%

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continues to build dams in a number of areas to achieve water security and national food security. One of the dams currently being completed is the Sadawarna Dam in Subang Regency, West Java Province with a construction progress of 83% and is targeted for completion in 2022.

The Sadawarna Dam was built since the start of the contract in November 2018 and is targeted for completion in August 2022. Its construction was carried out by the Citarum River Basin, Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA) of the Ministry of PUPR with a total state budget cost of IDR1.9 trillion.

The construction of the Sadawarna Dam was carried out in two packages. Package I by Joint Operations (KSO) PT. Wijaya Karya - PT Daya Mulia Turangga - PT Barata Indonesia with a contract value of IDR 1 trillion. Meanwhile, Package II was carried out by KSO PT. Nindya Karya – PT Adhi Karya worth IDR 907.6 billion.

Two dams in West Java have been completed, namely the Jatigede Dam in Subang and the Kuningan Dam. Meanwhile, five dams in West Java are still under construction (on going), namely Sadawarna Dam, Ciawi Dam, Sukamahi Dam, Cipanas Dam and Leuwikeris Dam. (LM)
