ALDO presents solution to reduce e-commerce plastic waste

JAKARTA -  PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (ALDO), continues its commitment to innovation in supporting the use of environmentally friendly products. After making paper box and paper bag products as plastic substitute, ALDO has launched a green product, Indonesia’s first plastic bubble (bubble wrap) substitute which is Hexcel Wrap to reduce plastic waste widely produced in the e-commerce business. 

Hexcel Wrap is a sustainable bubble wrap alternative product from ALDO in the form of a honeycomb structure made of recycled paper as a protection solution in packaging shipments of goods, especially for the e-commerce market. 

President Director of ALDO, H. Sutanto, said, “We are very concerned about environmental issues so we continue to innovate to make sustainable products and look for the best opportunities. We are proud to take the initiative to make the first Hexcel Wrap product in Indonesia. The goal is to support environmentally friendly products and participate in reducing plastic waste, one of which is in the ecommerce industry. We hope that by consistently supporting environmental sustainability through our various products, we can help protect the earth while supporting good performance for ALDO in the future.” 

For information, through its performance and various innovations in 2021, ALDO managed to achieve revenue of IDR1.46 trillion, or an increase of 32% YoY. Throughout 2021, the ALDO Paper subgroup business became the main contributor with a 65% contribution, namely 38% from ECO Paper and 27% from Alkindo. The ALDO Paper sub-group has dominated ALDO’s net sales since the acquisition of ECO in 2019. This is inseparable from ALDO’s efforts in continuing to follow market trends to meet industry needs, such as FMCG, food, and beverages, as well as Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprisess (MSMEs) which continue to grow.
