Indonesian government aggressively attracting investors in WEF 2022

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government uses the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum to hold discussions with representatives of the world economy and potential investors. A number of issues were presented in the forum, among others, related to efforts to grow the Indonesian economy, green energy, controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, and efforts to restore the national economy.

On this occasion, the Minister of Industry also conveyed new investment opportunities by utilizing the potential of large natural resources to create an electric vehicle ecosystem. This is in line with the focus of the discussion at WEF on the issue of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) in accordance with the mission of the G20 presidency in 2022. At the WEF 2022 event, the Minister of Industry continues to hold meetings with various automotive companies in order to invest in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry in Indonesia. Indonesia.

On another agenda, the Minister of Industry attended a meeting with a semiconductor company, software, and wireless technology provider from the United States, Qualcomm. To Qualcomm's Chief Executive Officer Cristiano Amon, the Minister of Industry conveyed investment opportunities to support the acceleration of digitalization in the automotive industry, which allows the involvement of small industries in the industry chain.

He said that currently the Ministry of Industry is building an ecosystem or information and communication technology (ICT) products such as laptops and tablets. In this effort, it takes a company that is able to supply chips which are one of the components in the product.
