IATA records additional 42.64 million MT of new coal reserves

JAKARTA - PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA) claims to have found additional coal reserves of 42.64 million metric tons (MT) from the location of the Musi Banyuasin Mining Business Permit (IUP), South Sumatra. Andi Tenri Dala Fajar, Corporate Secretary of PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA) conveyed in an information disclosure Monday (30/5).

He conveyed the findings to the IUP which was recently acquired by the company for 37 million MT. "PT Arthaco Prima Energy (APE) found additional coal reserves with a GAR of 2,500-3,250 kg/kcal in the APE phase I and II drilling program on an area of ​​660 hectares (Ha) of the total area that can be explored of 15,000 hectares," he said.

In addition, PT Indonesia Batu Prima Energi (IBPE), a subsidiary of IATA, also reported finding additional coal reserves of 6.22 million MT with a GAR of 3.75 kg/kcal in an area of ​​960 Ha. This finding shows that the portion of coal reserves is 201.32 million MT from the previous 158.68 million MT

According to him, the discovery of new reserves from APE and IPBE has not yet reached 15% of the total area that can be explored. "The discovery of coal reserves and resources will continue to increase because of the collective drilling of APE and IPBE," he said. (LK/LM)
