President Jokowi inaugurates three ferry ports and one ship in Wakatobi

WAKATOBI - Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Thursday (9/6), inaugurated three ferry ports and one ferry boat to facilitate inter-island connectivity in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi.

The three ferry ports are Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko ports. While one unit of the ferry is the KMP Sultan Murhum II Ship. This roro ship will be operated to serve pioneering crossings on the Kamaru - Kaledupa, Kaledupa - Tomia and Tomia - Binongko routes with four trips a week.

"We hope that with the operation of these ports and ships, people's activities and mobility will be easier. Especially for goods transportation related to basic necessities and inter-island connectivity in Wakatobi is expected to get better," said President Jokowi.

With the inauguration of one ship, currently on Wakatobi Island is served by two ships, namely KMP Bahtera Mas II and KMP Sultan Murhum II. These two ships will serve crossings in Wakatobi Regency with the route Kamaru - Wanci - Kaledupa - Tomia - Binongko PP. (LM)
