JAKARTA. The price surge of poultries brings out the optimism of PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU) about attaining the revenue and the net profit growth target in 2022 of 25%, following the success observed in Q2 2022.

Wahyu Andi Susilo, Chief Financial and HCD Officer of Widodo Makmur Unggas, claimed that until today, the existing progress is moving in accordance with said 25% growth target set earlier this year. “Until now, the company management is confident of being able to achieve the target,” he added, as quoted by Bisnis last week.

In Q1 2022, WMUU recorded revenue of IDR 630.45 billion, shifting 5.5% from IDR 597.43 billion reported in the same period in 2021. However, the net profit in Q1 2022 only hit IDR 41 billion, 37.6% lower than the number reported in Q4 2021.

According to Susilo, the net profit decrease resulted from the performance of carcass segment, which went down by 31.3% quarter-to-quarter, following the scarce trading activities after the broiler price skyrocketed. (AM/ZH)
