PAM Mineral faces operational challenges in jetty

15 June 2022 11:11

JAKARTA – PT PAM Mineral Tbk (NICL) grows pessimistic about the revenue target set in the 2022 Sustainable Financial Action Plan earlier after facing the operational trouble found in jetty and hauling road in Laroenai Village, Bungku Pesisir, Central Sulawesi.

Rudy Tjanaka, President Director of PAM Mineral, revealed that there has been a barrier installed by Transon Bumindo Resources (Transon Group) across the hauling road and jetty area of the company on May 11, 2022. “Previously, in December 2021, Transon also did the same thing,” he mentioned in the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (15/6).

According to Tjanaka, the blocked road is a functional road that is vital to production and sales of the company in 2010-2014. The license of said road utilisation used to belong to PT Duta Inti Perkasa Mineral. At any rate, this portal that closes the road to the jetty area causes a significant material loss and disruption to the company’s activities.

Following the past incident, on January 7, 2022, the Regional Houses of People’s Representatives (lit. Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah/DPRD) of Morowali asked both the company and Transon Group to refrain from blocking the road and recommended a mediation process to settle the conflict.

“Installing roadblocks across two public roads does not at all follow the existing authorisation. The company cannot conduct operational activities to match the target in the Sustainable Financial Action Plan. It eventually leads to failure of fulfilling the state income from royalties and other taxes,” Tjanaka reasoned. (LK/ZH)
