Ministry of PUPR targets infrastructure for G20 Summit to be completed in August 2022

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is completing a number of infrastructure support and infrastructure facilities in several regions in Indonesia for the Indonesian Presidency at the 2022 G20 Summit. It is targeted that all of the work will be completed by August 2022 at the latest.

"In 2022, Cipta Karya is tasked with carrying out strategic activities for the implementation of the G20 and also supporting international events, one of which is the Renovation of the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) with an allocation of Rp891 billion. Currently, the physical progress is 59.17% and must be completed in July 2022," said Director General of Cipta Karya, Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti.

Diana further said that the Ministry of PUPR was also tasked with constructing the VVIP terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to facilitate access for G20 Summit guests. "The VVIP work at Ngurah Rai airport has a budget allocation of IDR 52 billion with a physical progress of 53.97% and must be completed by August 2022," he said.

Still on the Island of the Gods, Diana also mentioned that the Ngurah Rai Tahura Mangrove Area Arrangement is also targeted for completion in July 2022 with a physical progress of 50.55%.

The G20 Summit is a summit attended by all heads of government/G20 member countries. The G20 members consist of South Africa, United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, France, China, Turkey and the European Union. This forum is believed to represent more than 60% of the world's population, 75% of global trade, and 80% of the world's GDP. (LM)
