05 July 2022 11:24

JAKARTA – PT Capitol Nusantara Indonesia Tbk (CANI), a shipping company, repays the Security-Based Collateral Loan facility worth USD 1.5 million, which is due January 2023. Jansen Warokka, Director of CANI, announced the news in the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (5/7).

“After this transaction, CANI’s total equity will record an increase in the deficit equivalent to the decreased interest expense of said loan,” Warokka added.

According to Warokka, the company’s higher equity will improve the business sustainability amidst the deteriorating shipping industry and the skyrocketing operational costs.

It is mentioned that the money to settle the debts originate from the internal cash. Said facility, which was obtained from PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), was fully paid back last week (1/7).

In March 2022, CANI recorded a capital deficiency of USD 26.6 million, increasing from the number reported in June 2021 of USD 24.35 million. (LK/ZH)
