06 July 2022 10:41

JAKARTA – PT Indonesia Batu Prima Energi (IBPE), a subsidiary of PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA), aims for a coal production of 500 metric tons (MT) in the second half of 2022 from the mining concession of 15,000 Ha in Babat Supat, Musi, Banyuasin, South Sumatra. The first cut of mining in said concession had taken place earlier last week (2/7).

In the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (6/7), Leader DS Daeli, Director of IBPE, confirmed to have signed a five-year contract with the contractors on June 9, 2022, in order to start working to produce 500 MT of coals by this year. “In five years, IATA is targeting to, bit by bit, generate a total output of 7.5-8 million MT of coals,” he explained.

In the second year, the coal production is expected to rise to 1.5 million MT. Then, for the next years, IBPE plans to generate 2 million MT of coals per year from the Corundrum, Beryl, and Amethyst Pits.

Approximately 75% of said coal will be sent out to India, Vietnam, China, and Thailand, leaving the remaining 25% for domestic market obligation (DMO). (LK/ZH)
