JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Water Resources continues to develop various infrastructure in the field of water resources to support the creation of water and food security in Indonesia.
Director General of Water Resources Jarot Widyoko said the Directorate General of Water Resources received a budget allocation of IDR 42.69 trillion in 2022. The budget consists of capital expenditures of IDR 31.38 trillion, goods expenditures of IDR 10.21 trillion, and personnel expenditures of IDR 1.10 trillion.
Jarot conveyed that the main programs for infrastructure development in the field of water resources in 2022 include the continued construction of 32 dams, construction of 47,119 hectares of irrigation areas, rehabilitation of 153,333 hectares of irrigation networks, construction of 28 reservoirs, provision of 3.48 m3/second of raw water, and construction of 157 km flood control and coastal protection.
"Of the 32 dams being built, 9 of them will be completed in 2022. These include the Margatiga Dam in Lampung, the Ciawi Dam in West Java, the Sukamahi Dam in West Java, the Sadawarna Dam in West Java, the Semantok Dam in East Java, the Lolak Dam in North Sulawesi, the Kuwil Kawangkoan Dam in North Sulawesi, the Tamblang Dam in Bali, and the Sila Banyan Dam in NTB. ' said Jarot.
In addition, the Ministry of PUPR also received an additional task from President Joko Widodo to accelerate the construction of supporting infrastructure for various international events to be held in Indonesia. The support carried out by the Directorate General of Water Resources is the construction of the Sanur Embung, the rehabilitation of the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir, and the revitalization of the Archipelago TMII Lake to support the G20 event and the construction of flood control in the Mandalika area to support the MotoGP event.
