JAKARTA – PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk (SMDR) channels out IDR 30 billion as extra capital to its subsidiary, PT Masaji Prayasa Cargo (MPC).

In the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (26/7), it is mentioned that this additional capital investment was placed through the acquisition of 30 thousand units of shares issued by MPC. It will then support MPC in securing the tender of strategic projects that will benefit the company in return.

The transaction value arrives at less than 20% of SMDR’s equity in December 2021, which amounted to USD 381.79 million.

After this transaction, SMDR’s portion in MPC will increase to 93.75% of the paid-up capital of IDR 40 billion. Then, Yayasan Pendidikan Kesejahteraan (YPK) of PT PLN (Persero) will claim the remaining 6.25%. Initially, SMDR only owned 75% of IDR 10 billion worth of paid-up capital of MPC, leaving YPK of PLN with the remaining 25%. (LK/ZH)
