Batavia Prosperindo Trans to hold a rights issue of 2.5 billion shares

JAKARTA – PT Batavia Prosperindo Trans Tbk (BPTR), a transportation service provider, will issue 2.5 billion shares of IDR 100 each. This plan will be further discussed in the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting on September 7, 2022.

Paulus Handigdo, President Director of Batavia Prosperindo Trans, claimed that the proceeds gained from the rights issue will be utilised to pay back debts, solidify the working capital, and acquire assets. “The rights issue plan will boost the company’s assets, which will be used to reinforce the financial and operational performance,” he added in the information disclosure quoted today (2/8).

According to Handigdo, the portion of shareholders who refuse to exercise their rights in this corporate action may be diluted as high as 61.54%.

Until June 2022, BPTR’s portion reportedly clocked up to 1.55 billion shares. PT Victoria Insurance Tbk (VICO) owns 6.67% of them, followed by PT Batavia Prosperindo with 73.25%, PT Victoria Alife Indonesia with 8.77%, and the public with 7.36%. The remaining portion belongs to directors of BPTR. (LK/ZH)
