08 August 2022 12:47

JAKARTA – PT Chandra Asri Tbk (TPIA) will operate two units of electric buses in the type MD 12 E NF City, which are assembled by PT Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB). The utilisation of these buses is projected to cut down 25.1 metric kg of carbon monoxide (CO).

In the press release quoted Monday (8/8), Suryadi, Director of Chandra Asri, revealed that these electric buses will be deployed for employees’ transportation. “The cruising range of the bus reaches 250 kilometres per fully charged battery. This electric vehicle also does not generate any direct greenhouse gas emission,” he further added.

According to Suryadi, the utilisation of the electric bus will also reduce the diesel fuel utilisation up to 13,776 litres per year, thus cutting down the emission up to 2,070 metric kg of carbon dioxide (CO2).

It is further claimed that this electric bus agenda is a form of the company’s commitment in helping to minimise carbon emission to 29% by 2030. “The bus, available for 51 passengers, will begin to hit the road in 2023,”” Suryadi continued.

Prior to these electric buses, the company has a history of operating 53 units of e-forklift and solar panels to power the lighting in the warehouse area. (LK/ZH)
