Sued for over IDR 11 trillion, Blue Bird prepares for court

JAKARTA. PT Blue Bird Tbk (BIRD) is ready to take legal action regarding the lawsuit of IDR 11 trillion filed by Elliana Wibowo in the South Jakarta District Court.

In early August 2022, BIRD was listed as the defendant in the case No.677/Pdt.G/2022/PN JKT.SEL in the South Jakarta District Court. Said lawsuit is filed in relation to the modification of the company’s Memorandum of Association/Articles of Association (lit. Anggaran Dasar dan Anggaran Rumah Tangga / AD/ART), Blue Bird Taxi and Big Bird shares ownership structure, and a stock portion belonged to one of the shareholders.

Elliana Wibowo, as the plaintiff of this case, claims to be one of the shareholders of BIRD. However, Sigit Priawan Djokosoetono, President Director of BIRD, said otherwise, that Elliana Wibowo is not listed as the shareholder of the company.

“The company has no legal affiliation with Elliana Wibowo,” Djokosoetono reaffirmed in the disclosure page of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Furthermore, Djokosoetono revealed that BIRD has appointed Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo (LGS) Law Firm in order to face this claim. “It is to defend each and every interest of the company in this lawsuit,” he added.

On the same occasion, Djokosoetono also mentioned that this claim will not affect the operational and financial activities of the company. (KR/ZH)
