Greylag Goose Leasing orders Garuda’s winding up in Australia

22 August 2022 07:40

JAKARTA – Greylag Goose Leasing once again files a lawsuit for a compulsory winding up against PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia. Said lawsuit is filed after the unsatisfying homologated decision made at the end of the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligation (lit. Penundaan Kewajiban Pembayaran Utang/PKPU) lawsuit in the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.

Prasetio, Director of Finance and Risk Management of Garuda Indonesia, claimed that the company will respond to the claim after deciding the next step regarding this compulsory winding up request.

The legal consultant of Garuda Indonesia received the lawsuit filed by Greylag Goose Leasing on August 17, 2022. GIAA is claimed to yet be capable of paying back aircraft leasing fees.

According to Prasetio, Garuda Indonesia is committed to complete all obligations to its creditors as best as it could. The intention is well-shown in the discussion forum conducted to discuss the PKPU process.

On June 27, 2022, the Central Jakarta Commercial Court had confirmed the agreement regarding PKPU reached by 95.07% of Garuda’s creditors.

However, after the verdict was out, Greylag Goose Leasing 1410 Designated Activity Company and Greylag Goose Leasing 1446 Designated Activity Company filed another appeal. “The company also had sent out a counter-memory of cassation on July 14, 2022, in response to said cassation appeal,” Prasetio explained.
