JAKARTA – The revenue of PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) climbed 8.47% year-on-year (yoy) in H1 2022. However, its current year’s profit was down 13.82% from the number reported in the first half of 2021. It was influenced by the increase in the depreciation expenses, infrastructure, and direct expenses.

In the Financial Statement of H1 2022 published Wednesday (24/8), Dian Siswarini, President Director of XL Axiata, claimed that the revenue reportedly reached IDR 14.07 trillion. It was higher than IDR 12.97 trillion in H1 2021.

The contribution towards the revenue was dominated by the data and digital service business line, which brought in IDR 12.86 trillion. Then, the interconnection and other telecommunication services generated IDR 664.31 trillion. Lastly, phone calls and short message services returned IDR 530.73 billion.

The operating profit clocked up to IDR 1.88 trillion, sliding off from IDR 1.96 trillion in H1 2021. It resulted from upturns in the depreciation expenses, infrastructure, interconnection, and other direct expenses.

The profit before income tax also slowed down from IDR 842.27 billion to IDR 728.08 billion following the declined financial income and the smaller portion over associates’ net profits. Likewise, the recorded profit shrank from IDR 714.95 billion in H1 2021 to IDR 617.01 billion in H1 2022. (LK/ZH)
