JAKARTA – PT Darmi Bersaudara Tbk (KAYU), a processed wood manufacturer, will form a partnership in order to procure the timber for exports with one of the forest concession owners in Indonesia. Nanang Sumartono Hadiwidjojo, Director of KAYU, announced the news in the press release quoted Wednesday (24/8).

“In the near future, the company will sign an agreement regarding the procurement of export materials with the owner of a land concession in Eastern Indonesia,” Hadiwidjojo confirmed.

The supplier itself is not revealed in KAYU’s published document.

Furthermore, the collaboration will be implemented through a land management with an environmentally friendly concept, promoting nature reservation in exploited areas.

“The company has made a commitment with new suppliers until 2026,” Hadiwidjojo further added.

KAYU is known to have pioneered the export expansion to several countries, including North America, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Bosnia, and Belarus.

Until August 2022, the company recorded having exported 100 containers of timers, whose volume totalled to 2.06 million m3. (LK/ZH)
