SMKL net profit skyrockets 46% yoy in first half

JAKARTA - PT Satyamitra Kemas Lestari Tbk (“SMKL”), which is engaged in paper-based packaging with flexo printing called Corrugated Cardboard Box (KKB) or offset called Folding Carton Box and Mobile Phone Box, posted a net profit of IDR59.57 billion in 1st Semester 2022, a 46% jump from IDR40.90 billion in the same period the previous year. The increase in net profit was mainly due to an increase in sales of 17.5%YoY to IDR1.14 trillion. The Company's sales growth rate in the first half was above the target increase throughout 2022 which are 15%.

In addition to the increase in sales, the contribution to the increase in net profit was also obtained from other income of IDR18.48 billion compared to IDR6.29 billion in the previous period, and from foreign exchange gains of IDR4.82 billion compared to the previous IDR776 million

“This Semester 1 performance result shows that our optimism about the Company's ability to achieve the 2022 performance target that has been set is very reasonable. We are grateful for the results of Semester 1, but we will not reduce our efforts to achieve better performance,” said the President Director of SMKL, Ang Kinardo.

As for the cost of goods sold, the Company booked an increase of 24% YoY to IDR979.27 billion from IDR790.65 billion. As of June 30, 2022, the Company's total assets were at IDR2.08 trillion, an increase from IDR1.91 trillion at the end of 2021. (LM)
