Gov’t gears up for next sukuk auction, eyeing IDR 9 trillion

JAKARTA. The Indonesian government is arranging another auction of Government Sharia Securities (lit. Surat Berharga Syariah Negara/SBSN) or State Sukuk, this time aiming to collect IDR 9 trillion, on September 6, 2022.

There will be six series of sukuk offered in the auction. It will comprise one series of Sharia Treasury Notes (lit. Surat Perbendaharaan Negara Syariah/SPN-S) and five series of Project-Based Sukuk (PBS). The SPN-S will be equipped with a discount, while all series of PBS will be offered with a yield ranging from 5.38% to 6.75%.

The sukuk auction is performed with an intention of fulfilling the financing target set in the 2022 State Budget. The underlying assets provided for the six series of sukuk include projects and events listed in the 2022 State Budget, as well as state-owned goods.

As usual, the auction will be an open auction and using a multiple price scheme. All interested parties may place their bids during the auction only through the primary dealers authorised by the Ministry of Finance.

Based on idnfinancials.com data, the Indonesian government had held a sukuk auction on August 23, 2022. The incoming bids recorded in said round of auction reached IDR 28.54 trillion, exceeding the indicative target initially set to IDR 9 trillion. (KR/ZH)
