Minister of Industry supports investment in AC factories of IDR 3.3 trillion

JAKARTA - The manufacturing industry sector is getting more active in line with its commitment to realize investment, increase capacity and make Indonesia a production base in meeting the needs of the domestic and export markets. This positive performance, for example, is reflected in the realization of investment in the industrial sector which reached Rp230.8 trillion or contributed 39.5% of the total investment value which reached Rp584.6 trillion in the first semester of 2022.

"The investment value of the manufacturing industry sector increased from IDR 167.1 trillion in the first semester of 2021 to IDR 230.8 trillion in the first semester of 2022 or a significant increase of 38 percent," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in Jakarta, Saturday (3/9). 

Following up on this positive performance, on Wednesday (31/8), the Director of PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia met with the Minister of Industry to discuss Daikin's investment and business plans in Indonesia. Currently, a number of companies from PT. Daikin Global in Indonesia which has made production, namely PT. Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia with the production of ducting type AC (more than 5 HP) and Air Handling Units (AHU).

Daikin's new investment, namely PT Daikin Industries Indonesia, will produce household air conditioners in semester II-2024. The investment value from the construction of the AC factory located at GIIC Industrial Parks Bekasi is Rp. 3.3 trillion with a production capacity of 1.5 million units per year. Through this investment, it is estimated that Daikin will be able to absorb a workforce of 1,600-2,500 people. (LM)
