Former minister to enter PTRO as commissioner

JAKARTA – Ginandjar Kartasasmita, a former Coordinating Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industry in 1998, is named the new commissioner of PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO). This new appointment pertains to the change in PTRO’s controlling shareholder position from PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) to PT Caraka Reksa Optima (CRO).

In the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (6/9), Kartasasmita’s new position was finalised during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting held last week (2/9). His installation as the commissioner also coincided with PTRO’s agenda of replacing its former President Commissioner, Richard Bruce Ness, with Romo Nitiyudo Wachjo.

Kartasasmita has been popularly known as the bureaucrat since the era of President Soeharto. Prior to his position as the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council from 2004 to 2009, he used to take office as the State Minister of National Development Planning from 1993 to 1998 and the Minister of Mining and Energy of Indonesia from 1988 to 1993.

PTRO’s current Board of Commissioner consists of Hanifa Indradijaya as the Vice President Commissioner, Djauhar Maulidi and Sutanto as Commisioners, as well as Osman Sitorus, Hasnul Suhaimi, Setia Untung Arimuladi, and Supandi, as Independent Commissioners. (LK/ZH)
