Pelita Samudera Shipping introduce new subsidiary, investing IDR 3.7 billion

JAKARTA. PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk (PSSI), a sea transportation service provider, announces the establishment of its new subsidiary, PT Pusaka Lautan Berlian (PLB), based in Jakarta.

The formation of PLB was done through PT Pelita Global Logistik (PGL), one of the direct subsidiaries of PSSI. “The intention and purpose of PLB is to focus on sea transportation service, both domestically and globally,” Iriawan Ibarat, President Director of PSSI, explained in the official disclosure.

PLB was initiated with an authorised capital of IDR 15 billion and issued and paid-up capital of IDR 3.75 billion. PGL is given a stock portion worth IDR 3.71 billion, representing 99% of the entire shares. The small remaining portion belongs to PT Permata Bahari Shipping.

“This transaction will support the company’s primary business focus and is intended to be an active business unit that will generate constant and sustainable operating revenue,” Ibarat further stated.

Based on idnfinancials.com data, PSSI recorded cash and cash equivalents of USD 41.37 million until June 2022. Meanwhile, its total assets clocked up to USD 167.32 million. (KR/ZH)
