Indonesia records a potential transaction of USD3.1 million at the Australian food and beverage exhibition

MELBOURNE - Indonesian food and beverage products made a great appearance at the Fine Food Australia exhibition on 5-8 September 2022 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At the largest food and beverage exhibition in Australia, Indonesian products have a potential transaction of USD 3.1 million or more than Rp46 billion. The Ministry of Trade through the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Sydney, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Melbourne, succeeded in bringing Indonesian products to international attention at the exhibition.

“The Fine Food Exhibition is an important moment because Melbourne is a hub for the food and beverage industry. The food and beverage industry is closely related to the hospitality and entertainment industry, so there will be a lot of potential that can be achieved by Indonesia in Fine Food," said the Indonesian Consul General for Victoria and Tasmania Kuncoro Waseso at the opening of the Indonesian Pavilion at Fine Food Australia, Monday (5/9).

The food and beverage industry in Australia has great potential with Australia's total imports from the world amounting to USD 6.3 billion in 2021. Indonesia itself is the 9th supplier of food and beverage products to Australia with an export value of USD 222.9 million in 2021. or an increase of 18 percent from the previous year.

The products exhibited at the Indonesian Pavilion include food and fruit snacks processed using the freeze-dried method from PT Hijaukan Bumi Lestari; sustainable packaging and cutlery made of cassava, wood, bamboo, and rice paper from PT Evogaia Karya Indonesia; various products made from coconut from PT Tri Jaya Tangguh; coffee-flavored vodka and lime-flavored mohito from PT Mayora Indah Tbk; biscuits, nuts, and jams from PT Dolphin Food & Beverages Industry; as well as coconut water, gluten-free noodles and low-fat creamer brought by Sony Trading Pty Ltd.
