JAKARTA. PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) is aiming to introduce 10 new stores this year and to secure 20% to 25% revenue growth this year following the improvement in sales prospects and the relaxation of store operational restriction. Furthermore, Matahari allocates IDR 400 billion as capital expenditure.

Terry O’Connor, Vice President Director of Matahari Putra Prima, revealed that in the first half of 2022, the net revenue of Matahari clocked up to IDR 3.76 trillion, shifting 5.37% from IDR 3.56 trillion recorded in the first six months of 2021.

“We project increases in the third quarter of 2022 to reach voer twofold, considering last year was full of restriction and closing of stores due to Delta variant [of COVID-19],” O’Connor explained during the Public Expose Live 2022 yesterday (15/9).

According to O’Connor, the performance in the last quarter in 2022 even has a chance of continuing the victorious trend, as those last months will be filled with many promotions to commemorate Black Friday and Christmas. “We are optimistic that the sales will increase 20% to 25% in many areas until the end of this year,” he claimed.
