The corporate financing demand rose in August 2022

JAKARTA – The demands for new corporate financing slowly climbed higher in August 2022 compared to July 2022 record, as reflected in the weighted net balance of 17.9%.

Erwin Haryono, Executive Director and Head of Communication Department of Bank Indonesia (BI), revealed that the increased demand for financing mostly consists of requesting internal cash and the relaxation of loan withdrawal. “The financing request to the domestic banking sector was also seen going up,” he mentioned in the press release quoted Friday (16/9).

According to Haryono, the latter was influenced by the interaction of several factors, including the prospect of future monetary and economic situation, as well as financing demands from its users.

In general, in the third quarter of 2022, the new credit channelling supply is expected to continue improving, albeit less quick than the growth seen in the second quarter of 2022.

In households, the new financing demands were relatively stable. The conventional banks remained as the primary alternative for financing, particularly multi-purpose credit. (LK/ZH)
