Securing mining contract extension, Buma Australia to gain AUD 400 million

JAKARTA – Buma Australia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA), has secured an extension of a mining contract worth AUD 400 million from BJP and Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA).

In the press release quoted Monday (19/9), Ronald Sutardja, President Director of PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID), the parent company of BUMA, further revealed that said contract will last for three years, equipped with an option of two-year extension. “It involves providing mining services in Goonyella Riverside, a metallurgic coal mine in Bowean Basin, Central Queensland, Australia," he explained.

According to Sutardja, said contract is the third contract obtained by Buma Australia this year. In February and May 2022, the grandchild company of DOID managed to secure new contracts of AUD 550 million and AUD 320 million, respectively.

The average production of Goonyella Riverside is expected to reach 36 MBCM per year. (LK/ZH)
