19 September 2022 10:39

MAJALENGKA - Kertajati Airport is preparing to serve commercial passenger flights in November-December 2022.

"For the preparation, we have coordinated with a number of airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air. Insha Allah for the first there will be 4 (four) flights. In December, it will increase to 8 (eight) flights. There are at least 2 (two) flights for Umrah," said the Minister of Transportation when inspecting Kertajati Airport, Majalengka Regency, West Java, Friday (16/9).

The Minister of Transportation said that after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Transportation together with aviation stakeholders had made recovery efforts by opening commercial flights from Kertajati Airport to a number of areas such as: Kalimantan and Bali.

"We are also waiting for the connection of the toll road from Bandung in October. God willing, in December Kertajati Airport will start to get crowded," said the Minister of Transportation.

Kertajati with Patimban and Cirebon is a triangular area in West Java with great potential as an industrial area. "The industrial estate development that will be carried out here will provide support for the performance of the Patimban Port and Kertajati Airport," he said. (LM)
