Indonesia aims to improve service export performance to Australia

BANDUNG - Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan stated that Indonesia's service export performance must be improved. Cooperation with Australia is considered to be an important part in achieving a more satisfactory performance of Indonesia's service exports in the future.

This was stated by the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) of the Computer Science Department, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Xtramile Solutions Pty Ltd.

"I congratulate Xtramiles Solutions and UGM for the agreement that will improve Indonesia's export performance in the service trade sector," said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan.

Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan and Associate Secretary of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Tim Yeend witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM Professor Kuwat Triyana and the Director of Xtramile Solutions Pty. Ltd. Robin Hadiprodjo.

In the MoU, Xtramile Solutions Pty Ltd will recruit graduates of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of Computer Science UGM in 2023-2028. This Australian company was founded in 2004 by the Indonesian diaspora which provides IT services, especially in the health sector, in particular Australian government hospitals and private health institutions in Australia.

Previously, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan held a bilateral meeting with the Associate Secretary Tim Yeend. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the G20 Trade, Investment, and Industry Ministerial Meeting (TIIMM) in Nusa Dua, Bali, on September 21-23 2022. Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan and Associate Secretary Tim Yeend discussed strengthening economic relations, particularly trade, both bilaterally , regional and multilateral. (LM)
