JAKARTA. The sales of PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk (TCID) in the first half of 2022 grew 8.9% year-on-year (yoy). Along with this achievement, the company also managed to cut down its loss by 85% to IDR 6.41 billion.

Masahiru Ueda, President Director of Mandom Indonesia, claimed that this improvement was supported by domestic and export sales, which slowly recover as the COVID-19 crisis subsides. Sales in both markets grew 5.9% and 15.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

TCID’s total sales in the first semester of 2022 clocked up to IDR 925.4 billion, IDR 609.2 billion of which was generated from the domestic market, while export sales brought in IDR 316.2 billion. However, TCID was still stuck at IDR 6.41 billion loss. Thankfully, it was 85% lower than the loss suffered in H1 2021. “Although the bottom line has yet to gain profit, there has been indications of recovery in this third quarter,” Ueda revealed in the virtual public expose yesterday (22/9).

Ueda also claimed that in H2 2022, his company will develop perfumes. One of the latest products is Lovillea EDP, which has received positive response from the market. Thus, he gains confidence that in the future, said products will be able to drive Mandom’s growth and performance. The company will also focus on returning its profitability after two years of consecutive losses. (AM/ZH)
