JAKARTA - Economic liquidity or broad money (M2) in August 2022 continues to grow positively. M2 position in August 2022 was recorded at Rp7,894.1 trillion or grew 9.5% (yoy), after previously growing by 9.6% (yoy) in July 2022.
This development was driven by growth in the narrow money[1] (M1) of 13.7% (yoy). M2 growth in August 2022 was mainly influenced by developments in lending, Government finances, and net foreign assets.
Credit disbursement[2] in August 2022 grew by 10.3% (yoy), after growing 10.4% (yoy) in the previous month. Meanwhile, net bills from the monetary system to the Central Government contracted by 22.4% (yoy), following a contraction in the previous month of 11.0% (yoy).
On the other hand, net foreign assets also contracted by 4.0% (yoy), after contracting 4.6% (yoy) in July 2022. (LM)
