JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade continues to optimize the potential of Indonesia's rapidly growing digital economy sector. It is estimated that by 2030, the sector's contribution to the national economy will increase to 18 percent of the total gross domestic product (GDP).

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga at the World Cloud Show Indonesia Edition 2022 organized by The Trescon Global Business Solution in Jakarta, today, Tuesday (4/10).

The Vice Minister of Trade explained that as an implementation of digital transformation in the trade sector, the Ministry of Trade is targeting the digitization of 1,000 people's markets and 1,000,000 MSMEs throughout Indonesia. Currently, there are 2,047 people's markets using the market website through the Trading Facility Information System (SISP), 10 people's markets on-boarding digital marketing, and 51 people's markets that have made non-cash transactions through QRIS.
