JAKARTA - The High Level Coordination Meeting for Accelerating Halal Certification and Strengthening the Global Ecosystem Halal Hub initiated several strategic programs to make Indonesia a center for world halal products and destinations in 2024 today, October 5, 2022.
The activity which was attended by the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Minister of Cooperatives and MSMEs, leaders across Ministries/Institutions, Islamic banking and business actors showed the spirit of strengthening collaboration in order to follow up the direction of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the need for support for acceleration of halal certification and strengthening of the Global Halal Hub to create an ecosystem. integrated to encourage business actors, especially Sharia MSMEs to penetrate the global market.
Bank Indonesia together with the Ministries/Institutions present are committed to establishing an integrated ecosystem that will optimize Indonesia's great potential to become a producer of halal products and strengthen its role as a global business actor.
On this occasion, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo emphasized how Bank Indonesia and the Ministries and Institutions are committed to interpreting Hamzah Washal as a catalyst according to their respective roles in spurring the development of the Indonesian Islamic economy and finance.
Solutions to overcome the challenges that occur and the limitations of Sharia MSMEs to enter the global market must be the focus of this High Level Coordination Meeting. For this reason, Governor Perry encourages a joint commitment to speed up the halal certification process and concrete efforts to establish a Global Halal Hub. This is one of the main themes that will be encouraged through the holding of a study forum and synergy at the 2022 Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF). (LM)
