JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) is focusing on resuming the Kalibaru Terminal project at the Tanjung Priok Port. The project was supposed to be completed before 2020, but was delayed.

For information, the capacity of Tanjung Priok Port is already above 70 percent. Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono said, if the main port capacity has reached 70 percent, it is necessary to add capacity through a new terminal.

As reported by Bisnis, Pelindo targets the terminal project to enter the construction stage by the end of this month. Construction begins for Container Terminal 2 worth IDR 4 trillion, product terminal 1 and part of the reclamation land for container terminal 3.

The plan is that the Kalibaru terminal will focus on containers, including large-scale oil and gas products. The Kalibaru project will include the construction of New Priok Container Terminal Two (CT2) and New Priok Container Terminal Three (CT3) as well as areas for Product Terminal 1 (PT1) and Product Terminal 2 (PT2).
