BUMI to pay off PKPU debts in advance

JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) pays off debts incurred by the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligation (lit. Penundaan Pembayaran Kewajiban Utang/PKPU) lawsuit after securing IDR 24 trillion of fresh funds from a private placement.

Dileep Srivastava, Director of BUMI, mentioned that all PKPU-related financial obligations of BUMI has now been paid in cash. “Now, Bakrie Corporate and Salim Group will act as the controlling shareholders of the company together,” he stated in the press release quoted Thursday (20/10).

Several financial obligations that have been paid include the New Senior Secured Facility of five years, due on December 11, 2022. It consists of Tranch B facility of USD 14.30 million and Series B Bonds of USD 631.56 million.

There is also the facility granted by China Development Bank (CDB) of five years, also due on December 11, 2022, which comprises Tranch B facility of USD 126.10 million and Tranch C facility of USD 687.46 million. Lastly, there is the Contingent Value Rights (CVR) facility of USD 100 million.

BUMI reportedly issued 200 billion units of series C shares in a private placement, bringing its shares up from 143,841,242,189 units to 343,841,242,189 shares as of now. (LK/ZH)
