Ministry of Industry facilitates expansion of f&b industry export market to Europe

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is proactive in supporting the improvement of the performance of the national food and beverage industry, one of which is by encouraging the expansion of the export market through facilitating promotions at international exhibitions. In 2022, the Ministry of Industry will partner with the Indonesian Embassy in Paris to build an Indonesian pavilion at the Salon International de l'Alimentation (SIAL) Paris 2022 exhibition.

“The Indonesian government has facilitated 20 Indonesian food and beverage industry companies that occupy 20 booths in the Indonesian pavilion with a total area of ​​202.5 m2. These Indonesian business actors promote superior products including tea and coffee products, processed coconut, health drinks, snacks, biscuits, processed fruit, processed fish and seaweed," said Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika, Thursday ( 20/10).

Putu said the food and beverage industry is an important sector that supports the performance of the non-oil and gas processing industry, where the food and beverage industry sector contributes more than a third or 38.38% of the GDP of the non-oil and gas processing industry until the second quarter of 2022.

"The food and beverage industry was also able to grow positively by 3.68% in the second quarter of 2022 and larger than the second quarter of the previous year which reached 2.95%," he said.

Putu added that through the participation of the SIAL Paris 2022 exhibition, it is hoped that the performance of the food and beverage industry will increase which in turn will also make a significant contribution to the national economy. (LM)
