Foreign investment slightly loses, net foreign is red again

JAKARTA - The volume of foreign investment transactions increased significantly today, Tuesday (25/10). Both volumes of shares bought and sold by foreigners reached 2.5 billion, or a 50% increase compared to yesterday. However, after several days of being surplus, today's net foreign is minus at meager 14.9 million shares.

PT Bumi Resources Tbk tops the list of the top buy issuers in the foreign market today because there are more than 600 million BUMI shares purchased by foreign investors. Next, two national start-up issuers, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk and PT Bukalapak.com Tbk managed to sell 280 million shares of GOTO and 111 million shares of BUKA, respectively.

Furthermore, foreign investors also bought 42.5 million shares of BHIT of PT MNC Asia Holding Tbk, a holding company of several subsidiaries that belong to the MNC Group. Not only that, 14.7 million shares of PT Rukun Raharja Tbk, an issuer engaged in the national gas industry, were also claimed by foreigners today.

On the top of the selling list, foreign investors sold nearly 125 million shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI). Around 93 million shares of BBKP by PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk and 80.4 million shares of PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) have reportedly been sold as well. PT Multipolar Tbk, a strategic investment company, has a quite similar experience after more than 70.6 million MLPL shares were sold in foreign trade. Finally, as many as 34.5 million shares of shipping company PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk were divested by foreign money today. (KD)
